This policy explains what cookies are and which cookies and similar technologies the PR Médicos website uses: what they are for, who provides them, how long they last and how you can accept, reject or withdraw consent. Portuguese Law no. 41/2004 of 18 August, as amended by Law no. 46/2012 of 29 August, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. The browser’s local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) works in a similar way and is treated the same way in this policy.
Cookies can be first-party, set by the website you are visiting, or third-party, set by another organisation such as Google. They can last only while the browser is open (session cookies) or for a set period (persistent cookies).
Categories and purposes
- Essential: needed for the website to work and to store your cookie choices. They do not require consent (Article 5(2) of Law no. 41/2004) and cannot be switched off.
- Preferences: remember choices that make your visit more convenient. Used only with your consent.
- Analytics: let us understand, in aggregate, how the website is used (number of visits, traffic sources, most viewed pages, type of device and language), so we can improve it. Used only with your consent.
- Marketing: would be used to show personalised advertising. The website does not use marketing cookies.
Optional cookies are off by default and are only activated after you accept them.

Google Analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4, from Google Ireland Limited, to obtain aggregate statistics. Until then, the website does not load Google Analytics or send any information to Google.
We have configured the service not to use the data for advertising or ad personalisation, not to enable Google Signals and to limit cookie duration to 13 months. We measure, in aggregate, clicks on phone numbers, WhatsApp and directions, and appointment requests sent. We do not send Google the content of forms, health data or data that directly identifies you.
Google may process data in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Find out more in Google’s privacy policy.
Google Maps
The clinic pages have a map that only loads if you click “Show map”. When you do, Google receives your IP address and may store its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy. If you prefer not to, use the “Directions” link, which opens Google Maps only when you choose.
How to accept, reject or withdraw consent
On your first visit, a notice lets you choose “Accept all”, “Reject optional” or “Customise preferences”. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time under “Cookie preferences” in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent for analytics cookies, we stop using them and delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
We ask for your choice again after 6 months or if this policy changes significantly.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). If you block all cookies, the website still works, but it cannot store your choice and the notice will appear again.
